Meet Karen

Women, you have magic; you possess power. Learn to use it and B.E.L.I.E.V.E.
Karen Walker-Tunoa is no stranger to resiliency or results. She got her first taste of adversity, a situation requiring resilience, at the tender age of three when she and her four siblings were orphaned. Her parents (both age 36) died two months apart from one another. Years later, after surviving domestic violence in her twenties and two months after her 33rd birthday, Karen was diagnosed with a rare blood vessel disorder. An artery at the base of her brain dissected and bled extensively. This arterial dissection lead to a hemorrhagic stroke causing the entire right side of her body to be paralyzed. Based on the damage her body sustained, specialists stated she would have a speech impediment for life and never be able to walk again.
Resiliency prevailed! It’s quite likely to see Karen singing and dancing at every opportunity. She has enjoyed working 21 years in the sales and real estate finance industry where she received multiple awards for outstanding performance in sales, as a certified instructor, and nationally awarded for presentation skills.
After extensive research and personal interviews with successful people who have faced challenging times, Karen recognized that there is more to personal and business resilience than having the ability to bounce back. Paradigm shifts of perspectives reveal seven specific resiliency traits and a system to be vital when optimizing performance. As a tenaciously vibrant business woman, experienced keynote speaker, and authority on resilience, Karen shares what she learned by coaching leaders and helping them reset their businesses to obtain optimal performance during times of growth and change.
Her message has been shared with notable organizations, such as Wells Fargo Bank, Stanford University, Comfort Homesake, American Heart Association, Comcast Spotlight, various business owners, and women’s groups.
